Some help.

Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:08 pm
Hello everyone.
I have just installed Krita and I have a couple of questions. I hope someone can help me.
First, how can I have the program in Spanish? Is there a package to install? Should we change something in the program properties?
Second, the aid does not work nor clicking with the pointer nor with the F1 key.
I use Windows 7. The Krita version that I downloaded: 2.9.6 64bit
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English :)

Hi, I'm not sure if Krita is available in Spanish but it's been made easier for language packages to be made for Krita if people want to translate into their language, I'll look more into it later when I'm available. Also, what do you mean by aid, exactly? Do you mean the help manual, painting assistants? Let me know what is the result that you want and I'll try to find it for you :)

Hello Maria,

First off, I would suggest you to download the very latest version for Windows, that is 2.9.7.5.

As for your first question, I have just tried on Windows 7 (64 bit) to press F1 and it works in that it opens up the Krita Manual web-page:
https://userbase.kde.org/Krita/Manual
This also works by selecting its web-page from the Krita > "Help" Menu.

As regards the option to change the language for the GUI I have just tried myself to do this but it does not work for me (Windows 7 - 64 bit > zip version).
I may be wrong, but I bet that the Spanish language is already available for Krita since there are many Spaniards writing on this forum :)
Unfortunately, as reported, on my Windows version, I am unable to switch the language: in essence, I can select a new language but when I restart Krita I always get the Italian GUI (which is the same language installed on my Computer).

I fixed the help action on Windows for 2.9.7. It works for me, but my default browser is firefox. Changing language on WIndows only works if the Windows system language is the same as the language you're switching to. So, on a Spanish Windows you can have English and Spanish, on an English Windows only English.

Thanks to all.
I found where change language: Settings / Change application language.
About download the latest version, I'm downloading now from the official website. To see if everything is working.
I'm going a little crazy with the configuration, key shortcuts, etc ... Everything makes me quite rare.
I will install the latest version and I will tell how I am and if I need more help.
You have been very kind,
Maria
