no comments? hmm...nice
spent a month on configuring KRITA exported as much as possible and now i'm pushed to 0.... so IS there or is there NOT a good way to backup shortcuts, brushes, patterns etc? and what way is that? and how do you load your key shortcuts?? please do answer because i will not begin fixing everything all over again until i know i can backup EVERYTHING correctly. i'm losing time and money here.... |

I'm sorry, I missed your original post. Krita shouldn't remove settings, brushes and other resources on updating. The one thing that's a bit iffy is the tagging structure.
However, to make a back-up, it is sufficient to zip up the krita directory, if you're on Windows (%AppData%\Roaming\krita), on Linux it's .kde/share/apps/krita and .kde/config/kritarc. (If you're using Krita for professional work, you shouldn't be using Krita on OSX, yet, so that doesn't come into play.) |

OK. firstly, thanx for the answer
then a question; will this also include my keyboard shortcuts and pie menu setup in the "back-up"? |

Yes, though the pie menu is filled using the tagging system, which is iffy, as I said. I really need to find a block of time, a week or two, three to sit down and work out the issues in that system!

Bump for that issue. Happened to me a couple of times as well when upgrading version. Many of my brushes refused to get loaded after upgrade even after restoring said backup folder. Incidentally, is it possible to migratemy entire workspace between computers if I copy my krita folder?

i see i'm not the only one
one more question; will the tags be "backed up" while doing this? because pie menu is just a tag away so my only worry is if the tags are somehow saved...this was not the case this time thanx again for the answer [edit] i also noticed that presets from past versions of KRITA can not be updated (overwritten) |
