Ok, this is driving me nuts. How do I save for web ? When I do it now the colors are always off and do not match background on the webpage.
For example I've set a grey in Krita 1e1e1e . When I check exported jpg it is #232324 . Argggghhh... I suspect it is something with color profiles - but I don't need it. I need the color values to stay as I've set them.

Are you trying to match a hex value on an HTML element with a hex value to an image?
Can you give a link? |

![]() Colors on the webpage should match the pasted image - as I've set the image backround in Krita to the same value. But as you can see those do not match. Opening the image in Gimp and then saving it again gets rid of the problem - but that's plain crazy. Is there a way without this extra step? |

This is the fault of firefox's color management. I don' t know the exact details, but there's something odd going on with the way they interpret the default sRGB profile we embed... which shouldn't be any different from no profile at all, but for Firefox it is, somehow. You will notice it looks fine on Chrome.

ok, is there a way to remove embedded profile, or even better not embed it at all? On my side it causes only problems.
A side note - I must finally get to reading some good color management tuts. This whole thing baffles me even though I work on profiled monitors. |

For PNG images, you can also explicitly choose to not embed a profile when exporting. If you have the same display profile set in Krita as the image profile, then exporting without an embedded profile should give the same results as you'd have without any sort of color management: krita won't do any display conversion either in that case.

thx for the info. Ok so as I need jpgs I'm a tad screwed. But glad to know at least that so I won't keep hitting my head against the well , trying to so something that's not possible.
On a good side - luckily it is not that often I need to do those banners. And when I do I'll do this extra Gimp step . That will do for now. |
