How to delete Brushes?

Fri Oct 23, 2015 4:50 pm
Ok guys, i've searched through the forum for this but I wasn't able to find a good answer for this.
So, how do you properly delete a Brush inside Krita?

eg.: I've just created a brush and for whatever reason I decided to delete it, how do I get rid of it for good?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
;)

Had same problem. Documentation says that brush (brush preset) can be deleted from both "Preset Docker" and "Preset Popup". But I can't see this delete button.

You can delete brush preset from Krita config directory ( https://krita.org/about/faq/#configurationstored ), just search *.kpp files with name of your brush preset.

Krita has powerful and carefully minded brush deletion/overwriting/history system (actutally, brush files are not deleted, they are blacklisted in kis_paintoppresets.blacklist xml file), but is missing (or have hard to find) deletion button, seems to be UI regression bug

Well, I found some .kpp files but not the ones I've wanted to delete.
I think I'll just leave it then... maybe I'll something else later on.

...but thanks for the help.

At the bottom of the preset list there is a button with a small trash bin. If you click that the selected preset will be removed. It the same for every other resource in Krita.

Yeah but the next time you start Krita they'll be back.

That should only be the case with tags, if this happens with presets, report a bug.

Still can't find the button. Maybe in another docker?

It's the next button to the right in the toolbar.

Hi dobrokotov,
For deleting a brush preset go to brush preset toolbar, by pressing 'F6' then select a thumbnail of the brush you want to delete, then click on the dustbin icon in the bottom of this box. the brush you selected will be gone.

thank you
