The performance of Krita´s Windows port was so bad it was unusable at points (Mainly making the brush large for coloring purposes). It made me incredibly frustrated.
As I dualbooted Ubuntu a while back, I decided to check out the linux version. Some brushes still lag (probably the complex ones), but damn, it is MUCH more responsive. It works like a charm, I love it! The windows version´s a disgrace in comparison. I realize the windows port will always perform a bit worse, but how could the difference be that big? Also, I have a small problem In the linux version. I´m using Krita Lime´s stable build 2.9.8, on Ubuntu 14.04. However, when I check the OpenGL Function, everything´s laggy/choppy. Isn´t it supposed to boost peformance? 0.o A few specs: OS´s: Window 7 64 bit/Ubuntu 14.04. GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti CPU - Intel Core 75-750 RAM: 8GB |

Some systems show this behaviour. See viewtopic.php?f=281&t=125170#p330275
Normally the difference between WIndows and Linux is noticeable, but not that huge. On certain systems however the Windows version is pretty slow. |
