Hi! I'm working on a new Tutorial series for my high school digital art class (which will be publicly shared on my YouTube channel). The short course, which will be 7-10 ten minute video tutorials, will use Bob Ross's Mystic Mountain lesson lesson as an excuse to teach various aspects of Krita. Plus it's a lot of fun =)
However, I'm coming accross a few things I need help with or comment about before I say "you can't do this" or "this is annoying" in a video. Most of the issues are with Palettes. Any help greatly appreciated! Palettes and Palette Docker: 1. Is there a way to get the Palette to pop up? Shift + M pulls up a Color Picker (MyPaint?) and Shift +N pulls up something. But I'm trying to get my Palette (created in the Palette docker) to pop-up, OR to get the palette show up in the right-click pop-up doohickie (i.e. instead of recent colors, I want palette). 2. Is there a way to change the number of columns in a palette after it is created? 3. What does the docker's the "Add Color" button do? The Green plus with the white background? I can't figure out what it's doing (I'm expecting a pop-up color picker or something to chose a color) Digital Color Mixer Docker 1. Is there a way to get the Digital Color Mixer to remember the colors you set in it? For example I want to use my palette in the mixer, but when I close and open my project I have to reset all the mixer colors again. 2. #1 wouldn't be such a big deal but it's not easy to actually get a palette color into the mixer. Here's what I am doing, hoping there's a more efficient method: a. click the down arrow on a color at the bottom of the color mixer docker b. hit Add/Remove Colors c. choose my Palette d. select a color in my palette (looks depressed when selected) e. hit ok. The color is not changed. (I also tried hitting the green + before hitting OK, and several other things, but get it to work) f. however, the palette now shows when you hit the down arrow to change the color, and you can select a palette color. g. BUT, it only shows the palette for the 1 out of six color you did this to, so you have to repeat 6 times. h. repeat next time you open the file, cus it's not remembered! ~42 clicks to get this set up, every time I open the document! 3. Finally, a request: Currently you have to mix one color at a time, and so it's not intuitive/obvious what values to use if you want something simple like 1/2 color A, 1/4 color B, 1/4 color C. It would be cool if I could set all the dials on the color mixer and then mix them by hitting a button and having them mix proportionally. Currently workflow to figure out How to mix 0.5 A, 0.25 B, 0.25 C (0.66A + 0.33B) * 0.75 + 0.25C Select A as base color Move slider to 0.33 on B, click slider to 0.25 on C click. And of course it depends on the order your mix them. And this is a simple example. It' becomes unwieldy very quickly! Thanks to anyone taking the time to help me out or comment! Demo of Bob Ross's Mystic Mountain (solo =) in Krita...SO MUCH FUN! Hard to find time to record videos when playing with Krita is so much fun! ![]() EDIT: Krita 2.9.7 on Linux Mint and Krita 2.9.2 on Win8 |

Ok, maybe this was the wrong forum to post all these questions. Here's the completed Mystic Mountain via Krita. Time to start recording!
