Simple problem, probable due to incompetence; I cant get the bristles_hairy brush to change color or shape. I got its color and shape to change for about an hour (don’t know how I got it to work) but after changing brushes and changing back to the bristles hairy brush it reverted back to white and lost its shape! I just started using Krita and hope there is a simple answer.
By "losing shape and color" I mean the white boxy streaks in this image http://sta.sh/02bnmpytd7cj. Everything was done by the bristles hairy brush, something to compare too.
I cant figure out how to change its color and shape! Please help!

You seem to have unticked 'use color as mask' under the predefined brush settings... (That's under brush-tip)
