I have a custom texture that I want to use in a specific area. I cannot get the fill with pattern option to work as I cannot pan the fill (pattern).
So I now have the texture as a second layer. On the top layer I use the magic wand to select the area that I want to merge with the second layer, but it merges the whole canvas. How can I get it to only merge the two layers but where I have the selection only? |

Just add a transparency mask to your texture layer - it will only retain your selection.

Hi Slither1701
and adding to what gdquest told, if you want to pan the texture , just lock the transparency mask layer and move the image which is masked, this will move the image but not the mask |

Thanks for the quick reply. But what then? As soon as I delete the second and transparent layer I loose the change. How do I I merge the result with my first layer?

LOL got it. My Merge was just not selecting the correct layer.
