Hello
I'm new here also, I'm a new user of both KDE & Krita Previously, I used Gnome When I Installed Krita it seemed unstable, so I switched to KDE Kubuntu Krita generally works really well with Kubuntu & my graphics tablet, but I had difficulty creating new DSLR template MY SYSTEM : Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Kubuntu KDE Platform Version 4.14.13 Krita version 2.9.10 Wacom Intuos 4 tablet WHAT I DID : File > New > DSLR Templates > select existing DSLR > Use This Template File > New > Create Template From Image expand DLSR Templates in drop-down menu Name : Nikon_D750_6016_4016 <== this is the new template that I tried to create Custom radio button > unable to find Krita's DSLR icon via either System icons or Other icons guess I must have selected Krita's paint palette icon PROBLEM : File > New > DSLR Templates icons for DLSR Templates in left-hand column and for Nikon_D750_6016_4016 in right-hand column are now Krita's paint palette icon there doesn't seem to be a way of changing icons I can't find where Krita's DSLR camera icon is located QUESTION : Is this a bug or am I missing something here? I have a screenshot of the relevant Krita window, but don't know how to attach it here. I would appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks in advance |

if you could upload a screenshot via imgur or another image host, (or even something like pasteboard) and link that here, that'd be great. I have trouble visualising what happened...

Many thanks for your reply.
Sorry my description was not clear enough. I uploaded the screenshot to my Flikr photostream, but this msg was displayed : "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image" So, I registered an imgur account but then this msg was displayed : "Your images may only be up to 720 pixels wide" So, I re-sized it with Digikam, uploaded it to imgur only to be told to wait 5 mins :~/ Anyway, here it is. Hope this helps ![]() |

If you go to the settings->manage resources->open resource folder, and then to the "templates" folder, you should be able to find your template there. You can replace the template preview with anything you'd like. But don't worry, this doesn't negatively affect loading the template

Thanks again for your reply. Yes, I can see my template, but how can I replace the three paint palette icons with the DSLR camera icon?

Go into the .icon folder and replace the image inside. You can find the camera icon in the share/krita/templates of your krita installation folder(I can't tell you where this exactly is...). You can also replace it with the image of your actual camera you've made the icon for. The icon before dlsr templates takes over whatever icons there are in the group.

All right, I think I understand. Unfortunately I can't spend more time on this today, but will try that tomorrow. I will shout if I get stuck. Meanwhile I've been exploring all the amazing things that I can do with Krita and my Wacom tablet. Thank you kindly.

Success !
I located the icon at : root/usr/share/kde4/apps/krita/icons/hicolor/128x128/template_dslr.png I deleted the template that I had previously created : Home/.kde/share/apps/krita/templates/DSLR templates/Nikon_D750_6016x4016.desktop which got rid of all the paint palette icons that I kept seeing. Finally, I created a new document 6016x4016 then File > Create Template From Image > DSLR templates > Custom > Other icons > browsed to : root/usr/share/kde4/apps/krita/icons/hicolor/128x128/template_dslr.png Now everything is fine, thank you very much. BTW - I've noticed that if I select any of the templates for the other cameras, as were installed with Krita, then a single Layer 4 is opened, whereas the one I created is two layers 1 & 2. Is there any reason why camera templates should be single Layer 4 ? |

There isn't, they just haven't been updated yet.
