Hello!
I'm pretty new to Krita, and for the time being I'm mostly trying to replicate the features I like about Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai. While poking around in the preferences and canvas input settings, I see that Krita has a place to set a shortcut for fit to page, or fit to width. However when I set either of those to ctrl + 0, all it does is zoom to 100%. Is there a way I can set it up so I can quickly zoom out so the image fills the the screen? Also, I love the way Krita handles rotating the canvas! It's just like Sai and better than Photoshop's way of doing it. However the shortcut for resetting the zoom only works occasionally. Is this a bug or am I not using the shortcut correctly? Thanks for any help! Sorry if these issues have been addressed before, I couldn't find anything with a search. |

Yeah, we have a bit of an issue where we have two shortcut systems, one under settings->configure shortcuts, and the other under settings->configure Krita->canvas input settings. For image navigation, you are best off manipulating these latter ones(though they may also be conflicting with the former ones...). However, they only work if the canvas is in focus, which it not always is.(And it's a bug we've been trying to get fixed for ages, but really difficult)
I myself have formed the habit of touching the navigation bars briefly before I do drawing actions, so I don't even remember what actually causes the canvas to go out of focus, but my body knows it perfectly. We also have some Sai and PS compatible shortcuts in the upcoming 3.0 alpha-alpha, so it might be worth it to check those too. |

Thanks so much for the response. Glad to know I was on the right track, and I hope that the issue can get resolved someday. Sounds like a really difficult bug! And I'll definitely keep an eye out for the 3.0 alpha-alpha ![]() I just remembered the other question I wanted to ask. Is there a way to un-dock the canvas window? |

Hi triciac
if you want to move the canvas window or open several files , then you must choose subwindow mode. You can tile or cascade or move the canvas window around. to choose the subwindow mode go to Setting > configure Krita > General tab > Window tab > choose multiple document mode as subwindow from the drop down. if you have a single document open notice that you'll have a minimise maximise and close button on the top right. |
