Downloaded comics font is not applied to Cyrillic letters (some placeholder is used instead). But Photoshop can use it. Screenshot:

This is blocking bug to use Krita only - need some program to place Russian text into comics, and may be import to Krita as image later, but you know how this is uncomfortably. Not necessarily Photoshop, this is can be even screenshot of text editor. Version of Krita: 2.9.7 , on Windows7

Please report bugs at bugs.kde.org. If bugs block your work, consider taking out a business development subscription so you get priority bug fixing.
The text tool is planned to be rewritten this year as part of the next kickstarter bug goal; until that time, we probably won't be doing much about it, unless someone makes it possible by sponsoring the work. |

Just in case, GIMP 2.8 on Win7 can handle the font - http://dobrokot.ru/pics/i2016-01-13__16-56-51_29kb.png , may be this can help don't spend too much efforts to investigation.

I'm sure gimp can, but if you don't report the bug, we'll forget about it. There's just too much to keep track of, so we need to use the right tools.
