Hi,

I guess this is piece of cake for the experienced ones here: I created an object which needs to be cut clear to be used as a kind of overlay object in a video (Magix).

Well, I tried a few things when saving that object (JPEG), but it didn't work, there is always some background.

How to get rid of the background?

Thanks!

jpeg traditionally doesn't have an alpha channel(that's the technical name we give to transparency in images), I recommend you try another format like PNG or GIF instead :)

thanks, I tried PNG and TIF for export, GIF is not available.

I tried different setting of the object: alpha inherit YES / NO, Alpha LOCK YES / NO. In the PNG saving options I selected white 255 as Alpha just like it is in the picture.

But whatever I try it doesn't seem to matter, the exported file always has the white background.

...Any idea??

Thanks!

Do you have the object separated in Krita? (Everything but you object deleted from you layer, leaving a checkerbox pattern)

Don't select a background color. Make sure you see the transparency checkers. Then export as png and select "save transparancy". We have realised that the dynamically showing items are a bit, confusing, so we're just disabling them now instead of hiding them.

Thanks, that worked!
