I have an anatomy book and various art books with some pictures that i'd like put on my pc. However, I don't want to screw up the binding or spine by scanning the book. So, instead I've cut a box in half so it's placed on a 45 degree angle, (with some tutorials found online). I've placed the book on the cardboard cradle, placed a piece of glass on the pages to hold the pages down, took a picture with my camera as straight as possible. Both pages are showing.

Using Krita, I'd like to cut the pages in two, and make two separate images with it. Currently, they too are on a 45 degree angle. I've tried using the transform and perspective settings but haven't been able to get the perfect setting. The book is 7x10" so each page should be 7x10".

I'd really like to get the images as flat as possible, is there anyone with experience?

As a side note, I've tried to take the pictures page by page and flipping the book, however, I don't have enough experience with cameras and how to align things properly. So the results haven't been perfect either. Thanks everyone!

You have something like this? Image

Then just set lighting so that the light comes from two sides of the camera, in 45 degree angle to the glass, keep camera on tripod enough distance to the glass so the glass doesn't get reflection from lights illuminating the camera. You get straight images everytime.
