HI

I am making simple banners. That is a background image and some text units on it.
Now I have to select the text layer from the layer window everytime i need to modify the text or move it.

Is it somehow possible to be able to select the text layer just by clicking it on the canvas ?

R+click, but that won't select the text itself.

Krita has A LOT of bugs with text editing. When I have to work a lot with text - I need to switch to Photoshop or Inkscape (yes, it is vector editor, but raster can be imported too, and text tools are robust and predictable). Maybe Gimp is fine too for working with text, but I haven't tried it.

Krita doesn't do very well with vector and text now. That is the #1 priority for the next Kickstarter. The developers are very aware of its limitations right now. A lot of people I have seen seem to use Inkscape for text and vector related things, and Krita for the artwork.

So the topic changed to Text editing bugs ...

I have started working with Krita for the past week and I am mostly creating simple banners = background image + text
There are some glitches in text editing which slow down work. I am thinking of reporting each bug one by one.

However, I must say that for text and banner designing Krita is far superior to Gimp and any other tool
for a number of reasons.

1. Gimp does not allow to draw shapes and manage them like objects. Krita does.

2. Gimp font rendering is very poor. Krita font rendering comes from KDE which is much much superior.
It beats Photoshop or any other windows tool on that. Just install some nice google fonts using Typecatcher and use them.

3. The user interface of Krita is much much simpler than Inkscape and Gimp making it very intuitive and easy for beginners like me.
