Is it normal my brush is this much pixelated when zooming in?

Yes, that' s the actual outline of affected pixels.

If you don't want that, you can change it in settings->configure Krita->general.

I reinstalled Krita and last time I used krita I must have had that option on because the brush was smoother so I was wondering what caused it. And somehow I completely missed that option in the settings menu.
