I have just started using Krita and I really want to create a brush (actually deevad A5 pencil 4B) in a light blue. I have looked at plenty of resources but I cannot find out how to assign a color to a custom brush that sticks so that the next time it is used it has the color intended: light blue. At the moment it appears I can change anything I want except the color. The options have curves but I cannot relate them to a color. I would be grateful if anyone can point me to the method.

I have two suggestions for you since I don't believe there's a manual way to set this yet.

1. You could go to brush settings for the brush you want and under 'source', check 'gradient' and then set your gradient selector to blue. This will have drawbacks if you ever need to use the gradient selector for other colors/purposes, because you'll have to switch back to blue every time you use that brush again.

2. You create your own brush and use the color of blue you want. Make sure the layer you're on doesn't have a background or anything but your brush shape, select the canvas, copy, and then go to your brush settings screen. Under brush tip, go to 'predefined' and select clipboard. Name your new brush tip, do NOT check 'make mask' and then create it. Select that tip and it will [as far as I'm aware] forever draw with the color it was created with. You can then name the brush and adjust other settings as you please to make it work the way you want to.
