tool I used in PS- are they here?

Thu Mar 24, 2016 5:27 pm
HI, there is two things I used on PS, that I don't find in Krita:
first: history brush!
second: load and operations with local selection. I can load one, but I cant' find the way to subtract another local selection from it, or add or intersect...

do these things exist yet?

thanks for some helping!

Hi derkomai,

Welcome to the forum,

the first one - history brush is currently not there in krita, there is a wish bug for it , you can add your comment to this bug and also subscribe to it so that you can know when it gets implemented or any updates -> https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=231991

for the second one if you have to add, subtract or intersect a pre-exisiting selection or you can do that by the options in the tool option docker, when you activate a selection tool like rectangular selection.

And if you want to subtract one local selection by an another local selection on different layer I am afraid as far as I know that is not possible, you have to manually edit the selection mask by drawing a selection with the selection tool, you can't add or subtract between two local selections of different layers. perhaps you can add a wish bug for it if it is not there already

thannks!

Yeah, I really meant making operations with local selections. like we do it with channels in PS. one custom alpha - another
or add or intersect! ^^

Another thing that comes to me now, I guess it's in developments: adding more blending modes to transparency masks. it's already a great feature to be able to put some, but they have only "negative", darken blending modes, so you can add black to other transp masks. what about adding white? with lighten blending mode, or, dodge?

You can add and subtract local selections: Make selection, click local selection channel you wish to modify, fill with black to subtract or white to add. No intersection since Exclusion blend mode does not work on selection channels.
