Perspective snap

Tue May 31, 2016 2:05 pm
How do I activate it?
Found a tute on drawing grids, set them up and have turned on the basic smoothing assistant (like the video guy) but my brush lines dont follow the grids. Searched more and there seems to be a perspective assistant, or a snap menu, both of which remain hidden to me. Any help appreciated. Seems a lot of functions get moved around between versions making the info difficult to find.

Snapping is here: https://docs.krita.org/Snapping
Grids and Guides are here: https://docs.krita.org/Grids_and_Guides
And... well, we didn't do anything in particular to the assistant tool: https://docs.krita.org/Assistant_Tool Maybe resize you toolbox?

You can of course, snap assistants to the grids and guides by using the snapping menu.

Thanks for the speedy reply!
Congrats on developing an amazing piece of software btw.
Yup Shift + S doesnt bring up the snapping menu here. (win 10 Krita v2.9.11) and my toolbox is wide open. Oh yeah I am on dual screens.
There is no snap to grid option under the view menu.
Under tool options it doesnt matter which assistant I have active and checked, the brush still wont snap to the guides.
The only perspective assistant I can find is when the ruler is engaged, with that selected and then the freehand brush tool still no snapping.

Thanks for the links, I found them all yesterday but nothing has helped so far.
Its bound to be simple but I am still stumped.

Ah yes, that's because Snapping is only in 3.0, it's one of the new 3.0 features. 3.0 got released yesterday, so I thought you were reffering to that.

Very silly of me not to mention the version straight off

Yup just downloaded the 3.0 installer for win 64 bit and it ran smooth as silk. It even uninstalled the older version and now everything is working perfectly

Thankyou so much for the quick help!
