Hello everyone!
I recently downloaded Krita 3.0 and I have to admit I am enjoying it! However I am experiencing a problem with Krita and I have no idea what I am doing wrong. It has something to do with the toolbox on the left hand side of the UI. I tried clicking the pattern and gradient buttons but clicking either takes me to the Shape Manipulation Tool. I tried resizing the tool icons and even undocked it from the left hand side, but they refuse to let me use either tools. I also detached the toolbox and made a vector layer to try it on but it is still not working. I understand Krita 3.0 is having work on it but I thought I could report it to you. I am using a Surface Pro 3. Thank you for reading and I look forward to your reply. ![]() |

Huh, you're right. I have no idea what is going on there O_O
Ah well, we've managed to get our kickstarter to end funded this morning for reworking vectors and text all the way, so we'll probably address this too coming year ![]() EDIT: Ah! You need to have a vector layer selected to be able to select these tools! |

That's great to hear. That's odd; could have sworn that I already did that, but it did not work. |

I am still having these problems. Worse still I am having a problem regarding saving files. Sometimes the contrast of a picture increases despite not having changed it myself and it automatically adds a full stop on the end of the file name. Upon trying to access the file it tells me it is unable to retrieve it.
This could be down to Windows 10 but it has been quite an annoyance. |

The double stop problem is fix in the latest development builds. If the contrast of the picture changes, you're using a linear gamma profile without knowing what you're doing: read https://docs.krita.org/Gamma_and_Linear

Oh I see. I genuinely had no idea. I read the page but I'm still a little confuzzled. Any fixes? |

Follow this: https://docs.krita.org/Saving_for_the_Web
Make sure to select a profile with gamma-correction next time when making an image. It's the default for 8bit/c, so that shouldn't be too hard. |

Managed to change the save settings from 16 bit to 8 bit and now the contrast is not being tampered with. However when saving as a PNG file it still places a full stop on the end. Other than that it seems to be okay. |
