Krita won't save files

Whenever I try to save a file, a small window pops up that says:
"Could not save /Volumes/Krita | Digital Painting, Creative Freedom/Exp.kra
Reason: Could not create the file for saving"

Try saving without the | in the path. I suspect that that might be the problem.
