the download page states minimum osx 10.9, but the pop up dialogue says I need 10.11. was the download page a typo? thank you! |

Then you're using 10.10. For some totally unknown reason, Apple decided to add some kind of totally off-the-chart check, undocumented, to 10.10, probably to force people to buy new hardware. That check, which is bogus, says Krita won't work on 10.10. It does, though... If you navigate into the app bundle, and go to Contents/Macos, you can double-click the krita executable and everything will be fine. If you don't know how to navigate into an app bundle. google can tell you how.
To add insult to injury, this doesn't happen on all 10.10 installations. Conclusion? Well, my conclusions won't pass this forum's nanny filter. |

Strange. I open the exec and it gives me the typical "blah is a file downloaded from the internet" prompt but when I click open, it just... doesn't open. I've never knew about the bogus check; that's pretty aggravating. I suppose I'm already getting my petty revenge by using a hackintosh. I will try downloading it one more time and opening it from the bundle and see what happens.

Hi again! It has opened. Thanks for the tip!! For anyone with the same issue: you're going to have terminal open so try not to be annoyed or surprised haha
