Krita lag?

Fri Jul 15, 2016 3:29 am
Hey so I literally just found this application and got super excited about it. Forgive me for not knowing exactly what you need, but I'll list some things: I'm using a gateway laptop, intel pentium cpu, 3.82 GB usable memory out of 4.00 GB, 64-bit Operating System, I use windows 10, and a wacom intous pen and touch??

Again I'm really sorry I wasn't sure what you need.

But so what's happening is that I downloaded the program, and it started up fine. However, after opening a new canvas, I'm guessing there is some kind of horrible lag where I'll draw on the canvas, but nothing shows up on the canvas itself, but it will appear in the thumbnail for the layer. And after I do another action such as changing brush size or switching to another window the scribbles I made will show up?? Sorry if that was really confusing!

Sounds a bit like a graphics driver issue, try switching off OpenGL under Settings -> Configure -> Display.

Regarding performance, if you use a large brush size, a notebook Pentium CPU might just not be powerful enough to do it fluidly.

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

I've seen reports like this before, but we still haven't got a good description of which GPU and driver versions present this issue.
