Everything dissapearing on start

Sun Jul 17, 2016 6:06 pm
Hello,
I have an issue. Occasionally, when I start up krita, every pice of the User Interface apart from the very top (File, Edit..) bar dissapears. I am not in Canvas Only or Fullscreen Mode, and the creating a new document doesn't fix anything.

How do I stop the program from doing that when it starts up, and also, how do you revert these "Changes"?
Thank you.

This is interesting for me because I have similar (or the same) problem with an application for learning Anki:

The author of Anki says it may be caused by some problems with how qt interacts with graphic cards drivers. I use nvidia 340.96 driver but with free driver it is not any better.

I suspect your GL drivers and Qt are not playing nicely together :-(

Did you report a bug?

Edit:
Open it from Konsole/Terminal and see if there are any information about errors.

Try to go to Settings -> Dockers and enable some dockers.
Idk if it will help but it's worth trying.

I actually had the same problem a couple of days ago. Settings->Toolbars Shown and re-enabling the toolbars, then Settings->Dockers->Brush Presets, Toolbox, Specific Color Selector, Tool Options, and Brush Presets got me going again with my preferred UI setup. Everything has been mostly fine since then. Hopefully it works for you too.

I think it might have something to do with canvas-only mode, but I could be wrong.

Going into "Settings > Toolbars shown > File" shows a button that manages work spaces

And after selecting a workspace everything goes back to normal.
However, I've done this before and the thing is, it occationally still resets for seemingly no reason. Any way to prevent it from doing that?
