I was working on a drawing in the previous build of krita. It was going fine, when suddenly the strokes stopped appearing. I tried going into Krita 3.0, opening the document as an untitled document, deleting a bunch of layers, etc. But nothing would show. On the side (y'know where it has the tiny thumbnails of each layer) the layers were zooming in and out as if I was drawing. But the strokes wouldn't show. When I opened a new document in krita 3.0, it would draw. But not in that certain document. Is there a way to fix this, or is that document just unusable now? (Or am I just not seeing that I hit a button and I'm stupid.) Also, other tools (such as the move tool and the colour selector.) will work. Not the brush tool or the fill tool.

There are many reasons something wouldn't shop up when drawn upon.
* A layer could simply be set to invisible (with the "eye" icon to the left) * A layer could be set to "locked" or "locked alpha"/"inherit alpha" (on the right side of each layer there are buttons for this) * The layers could be in "isolate layer" mode (right-click to activate and i suppose also deactivate) * The composition mode for the layer could be "not helpful"; that's the uppermost drop-down list in the layers list which usually says "Normal" * The transparency for the layer could be at 0%; that's directly below the composition mode dropdown * Your brush could be configured to draw with an unhelpful composition mode; that's below the file, edit, view, ... menu bar and also usually says "Normal". That's all ideas i can come up with now, but if you want you can upload your krita image somewhere for us to inspect, or attach it to your post, or something like that. then we could try and have a little look. |

I have the same problem, My sketch suddenly stopped accepting canvas strokes, both with the wacom stylus and by left clicking the mouse. I can create a new image and am able to paint again.
It's weird. If there is some way to upload a .kra file, i would be happy to let somebody see if they can fix it... I am not done with the drawing yet. Edit- Here's a dropbox link to the file. Took file down, Thanks for the help

Use deselect, apparently you have a small selection somewhere. Krita remembers selections between sessions.

I was having the same problem. Remember (afaik) you can't paint on group layers.

I was having this problem on a specific file. I realized it was because I had accidentally selected a very small section of the canvas (or maybe outside the canvas?) with the magic wand. I deselected, and that fixed it.
