How can I 'install' Krita's appimage like before, so it shows in the programs menu, and shows up in contextual menus etc.? Before I was using the Lime PPA but that's no longer carrying the latest 3.0 release. I want to upgrade my High School computer lab (Ubuntu and Puppet) from Krita 2.9 to Krita 3.0. I don't know how to do this with an appimage.
Thanks! |

Can you wait till the 5th of september? The latest appimage has desktop integration, but we won't be releasing the final version of it until the fifth.
You can of course also do this manually, but I can imagine you really wouldn't for 10+ desktops :/ |

Any idea if desktop integration plans exist yet? We're almost at 3.1!

I had some builds with desktop integration, but that was very problematical: it kept asking whether it should install the .desktop files no matter how often people said "no". I haven't got a good solution yet. Since you're on Ubuntu, is using the snap a possibility?

Thanks! Somehow I missed that was an option yet. I'll give it a try!
