Hello, I can't seem to work out how to effectively animate using the transformation tools and layer groups.
The only way I have seen so far to create keyframes using move or transformations was to then paint a pixel onto the image... I also don't see how I can animate a layer group, do I have to animate each layer within the layer group separately with their own timelines? Please advise. |

You can animate layergroups or animate transformations. We're working on this, but it's taking a long time to get right. In 3.1 you will be able to animate opacity: https://docs.krita.org/Animation_Curves

I'm glad that you can use transformations and such but I don't seem to be able to work out how. I've tried just putting something down, making a frame, using the move tool and making another frame but it just clears the canvas. I can't seem to find out how to do it at all...
Thanks for the link, though, the manual should help me get familiar with other areas of Krita. |

Sorry, my keyboard seems to not have detected 't from 'can't'. We are still working on this. :/ |

Oh, I see! That's a pity. I will export to another tool for now then, it would be troublesome to have to redraw for every frame. I'll keep my eyes on the animation tools as it matures, I appreciate that it's still early days. I recently decided I rather like Krita and it would be nice to have some solid animation tools to play with.
Out of curiosity, what exactly is the trouble with implementing the feature? |

Well, you can transform each individual frame as long as you copy them. The problem with getting transform masks to tween is that they don't cache right. Bad caching == slow as hell animation playback, and possibly export trouble. |
