win32.Evo-gen(susp)

Sun Oct 30, 2016 10:08 am
Hello, i just tried to download the latest krita, then my Anti virus, which is Avast internet security 2015 blocked the download, saying it can be harmful for my computer, because it contains a win32:Evo-gen(susp) malware, and this happens only with the 64bit version, i downloaded the portable version and scanned it, some files could not be scanned, and the reason was: "Error: the file is a decompression bomb"

Sadly, Anti-virus programs tend to be build on what we call 'heuristics'. They compare a program with previous virus-carying programs. This means that there's a lot of innocent files that could be marked as dangerous, including ones in Krita. We cannot do anything about this.

If you got your zip file from downloads.kde.org(via krita.org), then there's no chance it could carry a virus. Any virus that it does carry would then already be on your system.
