Hi,
When i open an Image in Krita and go to save the file over the original (Over write the file) the original file will get overwritten but it will then leave a file that takes on the name of the original but the file extension is '.jpg~'. So i end up with two files one that is un-usable as it is a '.jpg~' and i am wondering if anyone else has this issue or has had this issue and how it can be fixed if it can? it is an extra job to always delete the '.jpg~' files when i have overwritten a file and it is just plain annoying. Any ideas? You can see this in the image here which i used for a test to show you guys. Thanks, Harveu ![]() |

That is a backup file -- a saved version of the original image. See the manual https://docs.krita.org/General_Settings to find out how to disable this feature.

Hi, Thanks for the help, i have disabled backups but now i am getting Hidden Files being Created with the file extension of '.jpg_' ? Do you know why this is and how to remove this option too? Thanks, Harvey |
