How do you enlarge the UI font?

Fri Nov 25, 2016 5:12 pm
Hi, and sorry if I've overlooked this. I've tried to search for an answer online. I'm on Windows 10 and using Krita 3.0.1.1 and having a hard time with the font. It's just too small. When I create a layer and type a name for it, the font is tiny. Is there any way to increase the UI resolution or the overall text for Krita? I can't seem to find it in the settings. Thanks for any help.

See if this works. go into your kritarc file (configuration file) and add this entry

palettefontsize=14

14 is the point size of all of the docker. Does that work?

where is kritarc file?
https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Where_a ... _stored.3F

Let me know if that helps. It got removed from the UI for some reason. If it helps you out, we might be able to put the option back in the preferences somewhere.

I just tested it out on my version and this appeared to work with an extra thing on it...

[GUI]
palettefontsize=12

I think 10 is the default

Thanks. I searched for and found the file, but nothing happened after I added it and restarted Krita. The font is still small. I mean, I can live with it. It'd just be nice to be able to make it larger so I'm not putting my face up to the screen to read my layer names and such ;D

Let me try that and I'll get back to you

That did it! I appreciate your help. It sure would be great if this came in the preferences so if any other Krita noob comes along and has no clue to search for a kritarc file and add some things. Thanks again for the help. I can see again ;D

Great. I can put a task in to add this back. Being able to change this would probably help other people as well

Excellent! And for those who may search and find this, you'll find the kritarc file in C:/Users/(your name)/App Data/Local folder in Windows 10. Just do a search and you'll find it. Thanks again :)

I know this is old (and I'm sorry for that) but none of this is working for me in Krita 4.0, and I can't find the app data of Krita to do it that way. The font is absolutely tiny, I'm talking it's maybe 2. I need to raise it to about 14-16. Anyone able to help?

I know this topic is old, but I found out something additional that you may need to do to avoid 'tiny font syndrome':
    Go to Settings -> Configure Krita -> General -> Window and uncheck Enable Hi-DPI support.

Right now there is also a setting for that in Configure Krita -> General -> Window -> Use Custom Interface Font.
