Ok, so I know the brush editor and resource management is on the roadmap, but hopefully it will move up in priority.
1. I created a new brush preset by duplicating an existing one and saved it as "mytestbrush". 2. Then I tried to create a new Bundle, by creating a new Bundle, adding mytestbrush preset in it, and that works fine. But here is the problem: I can't actually find mytestbrush in my Krita folder in Windows, so the actual .kpp file. Because of this: 3. I can't open the file, and create (or insert) my own thumbnail; instead, I am bound to make the thumbnail inside the preview window of brush settings. I found a video of someone explaining the whole brush creation thing, and he already warned that the bundle management and all that is really cumbersome at the moment, with brush tips, presets (the actual settings), and thumbnail all separated in different folders (or so it seems). Has anyone else found this to be something that might need to move up in dev planning? I like to make my own brushes as it will improve my knowledge on painting in general, but if I'm gonna make them anyway, I might as well create great bundles with a nice externally designed thumbnail, and share them among friends. |

The dev plan includes things that have funding. The brush resource area has no funding right now to be improved -- so it is not being looked at or worked on right now. The developers know that there are issues with the brush resource management area. There is discussion about potentially doing the next funding campaign with a focus on stability. The brush resource management could be one area of improvement.
There are some brush editor UI updates being done, but that is solving different issues than what you are describing. |

Hi Scott, yeah Boudewijn shared the roadmap page and I absolutely love the editor mockups you made, I guess I can only dream of it becoming reality soon than later. One of the mockups is a Library window and I think the resource management would perfectly fit into that. But again, one can dream right ![]() |
