Hi...I mistakenly downloaded the 3.1 candidate version. My previous version was 2.9.11. I immediately noticed that it ran super slow on my computer. I uninstalled it and downloaded the stable 3.0.11. It's still running pretty slow. Deletes and undo's can take several seconds. What do I need to do to get it working like it was?

Well, that's not normal. But you're not giving us enough information to help you. I see in my backlog that you've also tried to ask your question on irc at 6 AM CET, but left within two minutes... At that time most people are asleep, especially on a Sunday!
So, if we want to figure out what is up with your system, we need information. Like, operating system, cpu, gpu, ram, peripherals, wheter extra software is installed like sandboxie or other "security" software. Btw, tt is possible to have different versions of Krita on the same computer if you use the DMG on OSX, the appimages on Linux and the portable zip file on Windows. |

Yes, I did try asking on IRC a couple times...the first time I left it up for a while. Honestly, I wasn't sure if anybody even used the chat. So, the last time I just checked the "air" to see if anyone was on;)
I'm just using my old laptop at the present. Windows 7, 2gb ram....maybe an old 2ghz dual core....Avast is on this thing as well. Anyway, it runs GIMP pretty easily and had run Krita 2.9.11 as well. However, to be fair...I hadn't really even used krita much. I just did a few simple test with it. But it ran fair enough, given this modest computer. Now, after the updates I mentioned...it's running considerably slower. The thing is...I didn't change anything on my computer between the updates...I literally was using giving Krita some more testing and I noticed that the pressure testing area (when you go into brush setups) wasn't working well. It would stop showing my strokes after 2 or 3. So, I decided to try an update. The updates immediately fixed that issue...but are running slow as mentioned. |
