I yesterday downloaded the new version 3.1 to my work imac and it seemed to work great. Good job!
Today it seemed there was a new version 3.1.1 for mac and I decided to install that to my macbook pro at home. It installed, but upon startup it freezed and my mac got shut down. Now my mac is in a state that it doesn't even start beyond the startup logo. I'm not too experienced with problems like this, so it seems pretty bad to me. But, I'll try to figure out what's the problem and hopefully I can find a way to uninstall Krita. Edit. I tried safe boot and recovery mode, but still i cant get pass the apple logo. mac is el capitan 10.11.3, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 Edit. I managed to get in with Verbose mode, Shift + CMD + V. Uninstalled Krita, and tried to restart. There's still something going on and mac doesn't restart properly. Mac was working perfectly before I installed 3.1.1, so it seems something is now messed up. I'll try to find out what it is, but my skills are pretty limited.

That sounds totally weird... Krita doesn't install anything weird, it doesn't add anything to the system outside the app bundle. I just installed the app bundle to /Applications and rebooted my macbook pro, and didn't have any problems. This is with El Capitan, and apart from Krita, spectacle and Corel Painter I have no extra software installed, and I have to admit, I'm months of updates behind.
There must be something more going on your system, but it's going to be hard to figure out what ![]() |

Yeah, this is weird. I haven't had this experience ever with my mac, but I guess it's just an unlucky coincidence since your test went fine. Thanks for that. I don't have any automatic updates on, so Krita was the only thing that got in. I managed to log in once, and managed to uninstall it, but after rebooting the mac returned to the same state. It starts to open, but then shuts down and tries to restart again.
it's pretty awkward. But I'll have to play around with it and if nothing works, I guess I'll do a fresh Sierra update and see if it helps. |

If, after removing krita.app there are still problems, it cannot be anything but a coincidence. I would try booting from a usb stick and using a disk checker.
