This isn't the biggest issue ever but for some reason I can't "stroke selected shapes"? even when i have something selected it's grayed out. i'm on a mac and using 3.0.1 if that helps!

'select shapes' is for vector objects. You will want to use 'stroke selection'. You might need to delete a file named 'krita.xmlgui' and restart krita to have it show if you have had versions older than 3.1 installed.
