I can't seem to get the contiguous area selection tool to select anything reliably in this version of krita, it has become very hit and miss.
Sometimes it will work if I limit the selection to the current layer (and select only the layer in question) but mostly it just ignores me, or selects the entire screen. Am I doing something wrong? I used to be able to operate it ok.. Windows 10 surface pro 4 |

I would first try to backup and then reset my configuration: nothing much has been done to the contiguous selection tool for ages, there have been no changes to the code that I can remember... And it seems to work fine for me, too.

for me this is happening with the similar color selection tool. i couldn't reproduce or find out the exact problem to report a bug. I'll keep an eye on how to reliably reproduce it. it works randomly now

Thanks, boudewijn,
I've reset and removed all references to kritarc and moved the brush packages I had programmed in. I've also uninstalled and done what I think is a clean install of krita - and it's still happening unfortunately. Any further ideas would be appreciated! Thank you |

Same here, It just does't grab anything, no matter where i click.
Edit. It seems that only Subtract works. Intersect, Add and Replace do not. |

Good spot, Rafal86, subtract is working for me too - but nothing else.

I can confirm I get this problem as well, on both W7 and Linux Mint. it did not happen in previous versions of Krita.
I usually fix it by clicking (or adding) several times in a row. |

I did not see all the fixes for 3.1.2, but this problem still persist in new version.

Yes, it has been reported as this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374142
We havent had time to fix it yet. We're not magic wizards, sadly ![]() |
