I want to try this:

https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/12068 ... /?expand=1

But I have no idea where to put the diff or what to do with it once I download it.
(Yes, I am new to this.)

Can anyone help me out? :(

a patch like this will take source code and give you changed source code. that source code then needs to be compiled. if you're on windows, that's a quite involved and lengthy process. also, the patch is from 2014, it's quite possible that the pieces of code it patches are no longer like what the writer of the patch expected back then.

However, it seems like all that patch does is add "Eraser switches Size", and it looks like the patch was accepted into krita's mainline. If you open the brush editor (press F5), you'll see there's a checkbox "eraser switches size" next to "eraser switches opacity" at the bottom side of it. That should do what you want.

Hope that helps!

Oh my gosh - thank you so much!!

I'm fairly new to Krita (trying to find a different drawing software than Photoshop since they're doing a weird subscription thing now), and still trying to get comfortable - and this was one of my main problems. All I could find on the subject was a 2014 thread with that patch in it - so I thought that was the only option. I'm so glad it was implemented by now! This will make things so much easier!

Thank you SO much! ;D
