Title says it all. This isn't the first time this has happened either. This is an absolute No-no and if a solution isn't found, I'm objectively just going to have to switch off krita permanently.
Without warning though, BAM, the entire program closes giving me no chance to save or do anything. I opened the file I was working from (which I hadn't saved from since I made the file sadly) no hopeful autosave message. Nothing. Just a blank **** canvas. First off, is there any autosave data or any way or recovering what I got screwed out of? Second. Autosave every 30 seconds feature? Is that a thing? If so, how do I make it happen. Third. How can I make it so this never ever happens again? Info: Latest version of ubuntu, I was using version 3.0.1.1 app image, but tbh I was only using it because the crashing only begun after I used 3.1.1 Was using the older version in hopes the crashing would stop. I was dead wrong. **edit Did some digging and found an autosave. Thank god. But the crashing really needs to stop. Is there anything I can do? |

Yes. Since you're using the latest version of Ubuntu, use the PPA instead of the appimage, that makes it easier to install debug symbols. Install that and the debug symbols and report _every_ crash to bugs.kde.org. You're likely doing something different from other people, something that exposes a particular bug time and again -- and I want to fix that bug, but without a backtrace, I cannot do that!
Like, I spent the past five days figuring out a certain issue that happens when you have the latest Windows 10, the latest Wacom drivers for an older Wacom tablet (Intuos 3) with a stylus that doesn't report rotation: under those circumstances, the value for rotation can become, suddenly, invalid (technically, Not a Number, NaN)... This only happened to one user, who reported the problem. I got it fixed, but I needed his input! So, I need your input as well, and then we can figure out if it's just one thing that happens all the time just to you -- and then I can start fixing the bug! (And autosave interval is in the settings.) |
