I have Linux Mint Serena, and I'm trying to hunt down the Krita configuration file. According to the docs, it should be located at: $HOME/.config/kritarc, but it's not there. I clicked ctrl+h to unhide everything, and it's still MIA. I did a file search, but that came up with zero results. I even turned on infrared and night vision, and it's location is still unknown. I just essentially want to reset Krita to default values.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Maybe you have XDG_CONFIG_HOME set to something else?

Nevermind... I just turned on ninja skills 5.0 and found it; it's in home/kde/share/config/kritarc...
Last question: In Windows, in the local apps krita folder, there's a group of folder settings (brushes, etc) that can be deleted to reset Krita's brushes and other settings. Is there something similar in Linux? Ie, how can I fully reset Krita to default values? |

Lol Boudewijn, we posted at the same time.
So um, yeah, how can I fully restore Krita to default values (reset configuration file and brushes and other settings, delete all other modifications, etc)? |

Open Krita, go to settings/manage resources and press the open resource folder button; that should lead you to the actual location of the resources in your setup.

Thanks boudewijn. In the folder that I opened, I can delete any of those folders and Krita will just rewrite those folders with default values, correct? That was my experience in Windows. Also, I deleted the kritarc config file I found, but the settings I changed are still intact. To be specific, I was setting up my wacom tablet, so I had to mess around with the canvas input settings. Now that I had figured out xsetwacom, I want the edits I made to go away. Which config file or folder do I need to reset?
And sorry if I have so many questions, but one last thing: Krita can't seem to see the mounted drive I have. I know I can write stuff on that drive, that is where I saved my wacom krita profile script. But I guess applications don't have read/write access to it. How do I go about changing that? I'm a total linux noob so I'm not exactly sure what steps I need to do. Thanks for all your help. |

If your Krita configuration files are in ~/.kde/(etc) then I think that implies that you're using Krita from the Lime ppa?
As I understand it, the Lime ppa software is not suitable for use on Ubuntu 16.04 derivatives (Such as Linux Mint Serena). I use the Appimage version of Krita and its configuration files are in ~/.local/share/krita This needs an expert/developer to comment. |

If stuff is in .kde, without anything special set, yes, the version of Krita is < 3.0 -- which is _ancient_!

I got the version I have from the Linux Mint software manager. I now feel dumb for not checking Krita.org. Thanks ahabgreybeard and boudewijn for the heads up.
I'm going to check out the appimage. |

Your brushes tab is the third one on the bottom row of the right-most column. The configuration file is .config/kritarc: https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Resetti ... figuration
