hello i am trying to open my file but i got an error message saying "Could not open *** Reason: Not a valid krita file ***"
can someone help me to solve this problem ? |

First try to repair the file (it's a zip file) with https://www.diskinternals.com/zip-repair/ or a similar zip repair tool. If that doesn't work, check for the backup file (it ends with ~). If that also isn't available, I'm afraid it's going to be impossible to restore the file. Note that Krita has a very handy save incremental function that saves you file with an increasing version number.

i think krita normally saves them directly next to the regular file. that means in the same folder, just with a ~ after the extension in the name (so it'd be a .kra~ file)
i could be mistaken, though |

yes i think it is a mistake because i saved the file and then i shut down the computer. im sure i saved it. And i still cant find the location of the file |
