i recently downloaded krita, and it works great except - i can't save files. it always comes up with
![]() i have no idea what to do. i've resized, flattened, renamed, tried saving into every file type, i'm scared to rely on autosave bc i've spent at least an hour on this piece |

Apparently you're trying to save to the root directory of your computer, instead of your home directory. Choose a location like /Users/you/Pictures or something like that instead.

I just reproduced this on Windows. Apparently, sometimes (maybe only when you use save as for the first time), the file dialog goes to the "system" directory. / on OSX or Linux, Windows32 on Windows... I'll look into it.
