Pen Strokes Not Showing Up Until Layer is Changed?

Hey! I've been using Krita for the past three or so weeks, and it's been awesome. But when I opened it yesterday, all the strokes I made didn't show up until I switched the layer. Then, if I made any more markings, I would have to switch the layer again to see them. The circle that represents where the brush is completely freezes and doesn't move. Every other part of Krita is running perfectly fine, and my tablet isn't causing the same problem in any other drawing program. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same problem is there. The only thing I've changed on my computer is installing a few new fonts. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

I have the same problem! :'( I have been using Krita (Krita 3.1.2) without a problem till yesterday (03/15/2017). However, I did not install any fonts or anything at all rather. The only thing that was out of the ordinary for me was that my windows 10 decided to install some updates (the updates numbers are (KB4013418) and (KB4013429) I put this here just in case it helps). But yeah, after they were installed, I experienced the exact same problems: the lac of the cursor (also I'm unable to "paint") and the lag when zooming in and out (I can only "update the preview in the canvas when changing the layer). I've tried to uninstall Krita and my Wacom drivers as well, and then install them again. I tried even installing a previous version of Krita just to see if the 3.1.2 was the problem, but in the 3.1.1 I had the same issue. Also I have no problems running my tablet in other programs... :V Microsoft broke my Krita

Yes, Windows broke something.. You'll have to disable opengl, for now, I'm afraid. Can you tell me exactly which GPU and GPU driver version you have? And what brand and model of computer? I wonder when I will finally get an update to one of my computers with a broken driver...

I'm not super knowledgeable about graphics, so if I get any of this wrong, just let me know and I'll fix it! But I'm pretty sure my GPU is an Intel HD Graphics 4000. It says the driver is "igdumdim64.dll,igd10iumd64.dll,igd10" version 10.18.10.4358. My computer is an Acer Aspire 5600U.

Yes, that's the info I'm after.

There are actually a number of problems with different intel drivers. Some crash when asked to compie a shader, some don't update on time, others make the entire canvas black... But none of my own computers show those problems, so it's hard to figure out a workaround. Not that workarounds should be necessary!

I disabled opengl, which definitely fixed the problem. In the meantime, I'm working through the solution you outlined here https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=281&t=139089&p=372561&hilit=disable+opengl#p372561. I'll let you know if that affects anything.
