I have no idea what I did, but i want to reset everything back to how I got the software fresh, I tried uninstalling it about three times to no avail.

You need to remove the krita configuration folders/files before you reinstall. Their location depends on your installation. Try searching for folders and files named krita*. Are you using a Mac, Windows or Linux? If it's Linux, did you install from a repository or did you use the appimage version?
