3.1.2 isn't brand new, and yes, it has that bug. Lots of people have complained about it already, here, in bugzilla, on reddit, everywhere... But 3.1.3 has a fix, and we made the first alpha builds today: https://download.kde.org/unstable/krita/3.1.3-alpha.2

HYPE! I've been waiting for this release for months. I check ever single day for a release that may fix that bug. Time to try it out!

OK, well its SEEMED like months. *she grins* That being said, this bug doesn't seem to be fixed at all. Something I've also noticed was that button looks like the eraser is off, but it still acts like the eraser. This problem persists when switching between tools too. If you have eraser on, and switch to another tool, the button looks like the eraser is off, but it isn't. You have to hit the button several times to get the button to toggle right.

oh yeah one more thing i thought the whole idea of the appimage in the first place was to eliminate the need for dependencies across distros

Hm, that works here on my test systems. Which distribution and version of the distribution are you using? Does it work if you try with a new, clean test user account?

right now im using opensuse and linux mint on 2 different laptops , my opensuse is the cleanest one, the only thing i have installed on my own in it is gimp and chromium , i had the linux mint18 for a very long time, like 6 months . but when i try the new appimage on both of my distros on seperate laptops it doesnt work it, i get these messages https://www.pic-upload.de/view-32946680 ... 6.png.html https://www.pic-upload.de/view-32946658 ... 2.png.html i havn't tried it on manjaro yet but i don't wanna go back to it again i thought the appimage was sandboxed and supposed to solve issues like this and contain all necessary dependencies and make it easier for everyone, and i dont know how to even build and install whatever is missing and would rather avoid doing that |

Hm... I wonder how you manage that. The lcms engine plugin is part of krita itself, it's in the appimage. And I'm on opensuse myself, Leap 42.1, not tumbleweed, with the plasma desktop.
Does both systems share the same home -- i.e., the same XDG settings and stuff? If you start Krita from the command line, is the output interesting in any way? |

yeah , they shared the same exact settings , but last night i moved that appimage to a freshinstall of linux mint 18.1 kde and it works there ,but the performance of that kde distro is really slugglish all over ,and a real cpu eater for some reason , so im looking to go try out opensuse gnome or others, not sure why it didnt work on the other 2 but this is what i got in running it from terminal
