SO! FIRST THING FIRST!
I am new to using Krita, NOT to doing digital art.
I cannot, and I will REPEAT THIS ONLY ONCE, cannot save my current project.
It IS the most recent copy of Krita, as I had LITERALLY downloaded it about a couple hours ago. RULE THAT THE **** OUT RIGHT NOW!
I am using Windows 10, and it too has ALL of it's drivers updated. RULE THAT THE **** OUT RIGHT NOW!
I try to save, save as, export, Save Incremental Version, AND Save Incremental Backup NUMEROUS TIMES! Only with an error message to pop up, telling me the following message;
"YOU CAN ONLY SAVE GRAYSCALE AND RGB IMAGES TO PNG. CONVERT YOUR IMAGE BEFORE EXPORTING TO PNG."
"COULD NOT SAVE *insert file location here* REASON: INTERNAL ERROR"

So I go to look for the answers on HOW TO **** SAVE A DAMN FILE! As I said before, I am NOT new to digital art, and have been working with OTHER art programs perfectly well before complications came up to where I couldn't do ANYTHING for three MONTHS! Found the answer in a forum, that's not this one actually, with the person having the EXACT SAME **** ISSUE AS ME! Where they were told to Convert Image Color Space, make sure it's for RGB, then they could save. I followed those steps, even checked to make sure that EVERYTHING was right.
"YOU CAN ONLY SAVE GRAYSCALE AND RGB IMAGES TO PNG. CONVERT YOUR IMAGE BEFORE EXPORTING TO PNG."
"COULD NOT SAVE *insert file location here* REASON: INTERNAL ERROR"

NOTHING ELSE EXISTS TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE! ONE THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST WHEN TRYING TO SAVE PERIOD! But wait! THIS is only the START of my problem! Saving is first, because it's the BIGGEST ISSUE that needs to be resolved!

My SECOND issue is one that I was willing to just take my time and poke around until I got IT corrected, but since I'm at my wits end in just getting an art program that would ACTUALLY WORK with my tablet, I'm going to post up my second, much smaller issue then the first one!

The FAQ's on how to lock your brush settings is ENTIRELY VAGUE! I cannot, repeat, CANNOT find anything that would actually allow me to LOCK my brush settings so it don't keep jumping back to it's original size every time I change brushes. A pretty annoying thing to have to fight with in general in an art program, but like I had said; THIS PROBLEM is the MINOR one of my two issues.
The FAQ has an INCREDIBLY TINY snippet of what to look for, which I don't even know WHERE it's suppose to be located at, as more information would be appreciated. Plus, I think the FAQ about the brush lock settings may be outdated as the program itself had it's most recent update on February 1st of 2017, and the Brush Lock was only updated as of July 2016, so almost a year old and VERY VAGUE information about what people are suppose to ACTUALLY be looking for when it comes to the FAQ's.
------------------------
I am at the very end of my own patience in anything digital art relations. I have to turn away commissions BECAUSE I could not get anything done for three months. Some assistance in getting the SAVING issue resolved would be far more appreciated at the moment.

Calm down, please. Your message is totally unreadable. But at a guess, you probably created a 32 bit floating point image because you thought you saw "32" -- for some reason, some people don't understand that number is the number of bits _per_ channel, not per pixel. Only .kra, .psd and .exr images support floating point colorspaces.

You need to convert your image to 8 bits integer/channel and then you can save it as a png. You always should also save your work as .kra, because saving to .png will flatten all layers. We've also had people around who didn't understand that either and were disappointed because they couldn't get their layers back.

For your other issue, use Save Tweaks to Current Preset in the brush editor. As the manual says, this enables dirty presets. Dirty presets store the tweaks you make as long as this session of Krita is active. After that, the revert to default. Dirtied presets can be recognised by the icon in the top-left of the preset.

You do realize, by the way, that Krita is an open source project, community driven, and that if something isn't to your liking in the application or in the document that it's possible to contribute improvements?

Edited to add: Oh, I realize you might also have chosen CMYK as your color model for some reason, and, of course, PNG won't support that either. Go to Image/Convert Image Colorspace and convert to 8 bits RGBA.

And I get the SAME DAMN ERROR CODE!

As for the Lock Brush settings, I don't see ANYTHING that you are describing. CLEARLY nothing related to what you are talking about exists on the current update, but as I said; THIS ONE IS THE LEAST OF MY CURRENT ISSUES.

As for improvements to help better this program, the save feature should just be set for that. To save, and not to constantly battle with. The last thing anyone trying out a new program should run across is being unable to save their work for ANY reason.

Then you're still doing something wrong. Save your file as .kra and make it available so we can see what you're doing, or make a screenshot of the complete Krita Window.

I CAN'T!
I've tried with EVERY save option available, and get the same message each and every time!

I

CANNOT

SAVE!

1/2 RESOLVED
The "FLOAT CHANNEL" which I swear I didn't select before was preventing me from saving it.

Keep in mind that it is prudent to always save your work as .kra -- if you only save as .png you will lose your layers. Png does not support layers.

In order to save as .Kra you may have to select Kra from a drop down menu inside the save file Dialog.

Kra can save everything krita has to offer. Floating point layers, grey scale, you name it. The fact that it was not letting you save and kept talking about PNG means that you did not tell krita to save a Kra file in a way that it understands.

To find the"save tweaks to presets" button you have to open the brush editor, which you can do with the f5 key or maybe the f4t key. I'm using my phone right now, so can not check.

Hope that helps!
