I've installed Krita on several machines with never a problem. But now I've got a brand new fresh install of Win7 x32 on an HP G70, intel pentium, 3gb ram, and krita won't open. I've reinstalled to no avail. The error says "krita.exe has stopped working". There is no user profile set up as yet, so there's no corruption there to go after.

Looks like I solved the problem inadvertently. I updated the video driver, and voila, krita is working fine.

Yes... Old intel display drivers are the number one reason for crashes and display issues. I get reports like this a couple of times _a day_, which is why it's the number one FAQ entry: https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Krita_s ... _Intel_GPU
So, updating your driver didn't "seem" to solve the problem, it's the actual solution. |

Thanks. Good to know. I did check the FAQ first, but I missed "krita crashes" in the longer title of the first faq.
Thanks again. Nice prog. BW. |
