Hi! I'm new to this website, but I've been playing around with Krita for a while. However, I've come up with a problem I hope you can help me with.
I'm having trouble selecting multiple layers in Krita. When I use shift + ctrl and click on a layer to add to my selection, it just selects that layer and deselects the previous one. Like it would when just clicking with only the left mouse button. Also, when I try to identify a layer using shift + r, nothing happens except for the cursor turning into a + sign (and not changing back after clicking other tools). Am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with Krita/my pc settings?
I'm using Krita version 3.1.1. on a Linux Mint system.

Do not use Shift + Ctrl to select multiple layers. Just hold Ctrl and select the layers.
To select a layer by clicking on it's content, use R instead of Shift + R

Thanks for your reply. Only using "R" to selecting a layer by clicking on its content does work! However, I'm still not having any luck with "control" to select multiple layers. I've tried "ctrl" like you said, "crtl" + "shift" like I tried before and just "shift", but none of these do anything other than just selecting the one layer I'm clicking on that moment. My ctrl-button seems to work fine in other programs.

Which version of Krita do you have?

Well, that explains. We're currently at 3.1.4, and 2.8 didn't have that feature yet.

Ha, well that does explain a lot! Have you got any idea how I can install the new version on Linux? I've used the Appimage before, but I'm not sure how to install the new version that way (new to the whole Appimage thing).
Anyhow, thanks for the help so far!

David Revoy has an illustrated appimage for Cats guide (spoiler, it's a lot simpler than you'd expect).

Couldn't be easier :D Thank you all!

Edit: I've "installed" v1.3.4 using the Appimage, but I've noticed Krita is REALLY slow now. After every ten brush strokes or so I have to wait a few minutes for it to process everything. It also makes the rest of the Linux system a lot slower.
Is there something about the newest version that requires a lot more memory or something else that could cause this lack of speed?
