Toolbar configuration lost

Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:10 pm
Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem because I haven't found any solution for this.
I've configured my toolbar before, that time so that pen pressure can be turned on and off. Works like it should, no troubles.
Now that I'm trying to get more accustomed to Krita I wanted to add an on and off for the stabilisator, meaning I wanted to add to the "brushes and stuff" toolbar basic smoothing and stabilized smoothing. So I did just that, but here comes the troubles.
Every time after I've closed Krita, those two settings disappears. If I go into the configuration after a start up I can see them laying there but not showing on the toolbar. So I have to redo the configuration. I must have a canvas open to be able re-chose those two settings and then carry on, a bit of irritation since I want them always to be there. How do I get them to do that?

I am not a complete expert, but, if I understand right, you need to save the layout.

Reconfigure things you wanted in the stuff and things

Under the bar with the "file", "edit", etc. options there is the bar that you would use to change size, opacity, and other things. On the same bar, go to the right most part and you will see a square button with a picture and an upside down triangle in the corner. Click on that button. It will open the layout panel. It will have things like Animation, Big Paint, and others. These are different layouts you can use (there is even animation! :) ). At the bottom of the pop-up, it says insert name and save. insert a name like "layout" and save.

This should and a new layout you can access, it will be the default if it is the last one used.

REMEMBER THIS MIGHT BE THE WRONG SOLUTION AS I DIDN"T COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION. I"LL DELETE IT IF IT IS COMPLETELY WRONG

I am having the same issue. Other items added to the toolbar work as expected; the Stabilizer and Basic Smoothing items seem to be the problem. Although when I restart Krita the added items are still in the right-hand column in the Configure Toolbars dialog, they don't appear on the Toolbar. If I move an item in the dialog it makes the Apply button active and I can click that and it makes the smoothing items reappear on the toolbar. Saving the workspace does not help.

Any solutions? It is kind of a pain to have to redo my setup each time I restart.

Hi sorry for a late response.
I tried to save the layout, didn't work. I still have to manually go via settings>configure toolbar> brushes and stuff and remove the basic smoothing and stabilisator from the current action and re-choose them but other settings stay where I putt them.
So I'm having the same problem shmutzy. Still haven't found any solution :/

Hello Jinaum.

Is there anyway that you can do a screenshot of it when you load it and after you change it. By your description, I am having a hard time visualizing your issue.
I am interested in which area that you are placing the sliders, and if it will do it for me as well.

Thanks.

I looks like it is a bug.
I tried it as well and did the same; I even tried them in another location and other icons.

So you should submit this in a bug report for the Krita devs.
