Circular shapes and arcs

Mon Aug 07, 2017 5:07 pm
I have drawn arcs using freehand brush and straight lines using line tool. I would like to make
perfect circular arcs and seamless lines on the end of the arcs so that I don't have visible spot where I changed the brush.
How to do that ?

Hi egart,
egart wrote:How to do that ?

This is how I would do that:
  1. Either open the svg file with Krita and jump to point 4), OR go to:
Layers > New Vector Layer (left-bottom down arrow, near the "plus" icon)
  2. Draw the shape (tools 6-13)
  3. Edit the shape (tools 1-2)
  4. When done, select the shape (tool 1)
  5. Go to "Tool Options" docker > Line icon tab > Solid color fill, from there you can then change the color, thickness, caps and more.
Hope it helps

I don't understand. What tools 6-13, 1-2 ?

I was referring to the order of the tools in the toolbox: https://docs.krita.org/Category:Toolbox

Draw a circle using the "Ellipse tool" and
just select the shape (1st tool on the toolbox) and
switch to the "Edit Shapes Tool" (2nd tool of the list).
Finally, go to the "Tool Options" docker > Type: Arc > Start angle 90°, End angle 270° to get the arc.
Does it work?

I don't see any list or "Edit Shapes Tool" . You mean "path editing tool" ? That I have.

I can't see "Tool Options" docker > Type: Arc" .

Yes.

egart, I think it's because I'm using Krita 4 pre-alpha which has had a rewrite of the vector tools and new features. Sorry for not having specified that before.

Is Krita 4 stable to use ?

No, it's pre-alpha! Of course it's not stable to use yet!

I did it in 3.1.4.
Does Krita have union of vectors and symmetry ?
