Pen pressure problems

Sun Aug 27, 2017 8:00 am
Hi!
I have some problems regarding the pen pressure in Krita. I love the program and I'd love to use it but this problem is becoming very annoying.
I just got a new tablet (and first), a Genius MousePen i608X and for some reason, the pen pressure works only once, when I first start the computer and the program.
After that, if Krita is closed, then restarted, the pen pressure doesn't work. I've been searching for a way to solve this. I've tried almost everything, I believe and I still have no answer.
I also tried reinstalling Krita and my tablet drivers. The pen pressure works in paint tool sai and while testing my tablet's settings every time.
Configuring my tablet's settings through Krita doesn't really help either so I am really out of ideas.

I also have to mention that before last night( I have no idea why) the pen pressure did not work at all, unlike now, working once, when the program starts.

Any type of advice is welcome! Thank you!

Yes, that's a known problem with Genius tablet drivers. Their drivers keep track of which applications have connected to the driver, and if the application tries to connect again, doesn't give home. It's not a bug in Krita, Krita works according to the Wintab spec, as far as we can tell. If you want to know how bad the Genius driver developers are, check this horror story: https://krita.org/en/item/anatomy-of-a-bug-fix/

I guess some people should not be allowed to code...
I'll try keeping the program opened until I get myself a Wacom.
Thank you!

If you have time you can try using Windows Ink with this testing version: https://krita.org/en/item/angle-and-windows-ink-a-new-test-version-of-krita-for-windows/
Not sure if Genius tablet supports Windows Ink.
