Hi I'm new and sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but I really need help. I don't know how to update Krita to the latest version (3.2), There's no automatic update unless you buy from steam. I went to the Krita website site and downloaded the latest version (even though I had 3.12..? which I deleted), then I tried to instal 3.2 but it's a zip file and I extracted it. I'm so confused, what do I do?

There's no download prompt, please help! :(

You can also get Krita on the Windows Store, where you will get updates automatically. But in any case, the zip file doesn't need installation, you can just unpack it it and run in place. Or you could download the installer, which is marked as "installer" on the download page.

Oh ok. Where exactly do I "unpack"? Do I need to move it to the program file or something? I', not very tech savvy, sorry. And because I deleted the main program (3.1...) do I need to re-install that again? Thanks.

Anywhere, it doesn't matter at all. But what I really wonder about is... Why didn't you download the installer?

I don't know how to use it, I don't know what it does besides installs the program. I assume it also updates Krita? Would you mind explaining how? Or do I need to delte the entire program, go to the website to download and re-install Krita again?

I managed to install the 3.2 update, but I did it by the dumb and tedious way of deleting everything. Thanks for the tip about the installer, I didn't notice it was called that.

No, the zip file version doesn't update anything. It's a completely self-contained version of Krita. You could have a dozen versions of Krita unpacked next to each other, and run each in turn.
