I made a brush and I was really satisfied with it.
I saved it, and suddenly krita started to ignore brush's changes. (The characters in 'Name' area didn't turn into italics when I tweaked the brush options) The file was in my preset folder. So I copy&pasted it into another folder and removed the original. And I reloaded the file in krita. (I reopened krita as well.) But the brush didn't show up in the preset docker. I tried multiple times again, I re-installed krita, and I rebooted my computer. But I still can't load the brush file. I made a new simple brush again as a test, and krita started to save and load every brushes correctly, except that file. It seemed that that specific file is left with some weird problem. I have no idea what happened back there. Have any idea what it is? And I still want to open it. ![]() https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5qZVKX6br6ZTWxITkotSnJ5TGM

Hello,
Did you try to import your brush with the manager? |

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
I take it that you fallowed these instructions: https://userbase.kde.org/Krita/Manual/BrushPresets or https://docs.krita.org/Loading_and_Saving_Brushes At the bottom of the page in the link, it shows the directory where you can put the .kpp file. If it is not auto loading, this might help you with your problem. |

Hello. I found out why your brush is not loading.
For some weird reason, when you saved the preset, the pattern you where using got embedded into the kpp file, which as far as I know, is not the normal behavior. edit: After looking in to the default presets, I found out it is the default behavior. It happens that the pattern alone was taking almost 7MB on the preset, which usually takes ~20KB total. So either the preset got too big or it was out of specification to be loadded by Krita. I tried to recover the preset the best as I could, and you can get it there: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1P_pqA1POFRc1JyZHVDV3BOUlU But the pattern was gone. You will have to update the preset to use the pattern you want. |
